Chester James Cogdill has passed away. Jim was born in Port Hueneme, California to James H. Cogdill and Mary Loucille Beckman Cogdill on October 17, 1953. He was the oldest and only son and had one sibling, Sherry Cogdill Steyaert. Jim lived most of his early life in Scholls and Portland, OR and then relocated to Knoxville, TN in 1998 and remained in Knoxville until the time of his death. Jim was an experienced musician with over 25 years on the harmonica and bass guitar. He was extremely talented and could literally pick up any instrument and within no time would be making incredible music. He was also a very talented song writer as well as a loving father, grandfather and brother. Jim is survived by his children, Alexander J. (Rachael) Cogdill of Knoxville, Cassandra L. (Lloyd) Winter of Clatskanie, OR, Kaitlyn Rasmussen and Andrew Cogdill-Cole; parents, James H. Cogdill and Margaret L. Cogdill of Knoxville; sister, Sherry Cogdill (Henry) Steyaert of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Macaijah J. Cogdill, Eric Alan-Simmonds of Knoxville, Dove S. Winter, Peregrine E. Winter, Atlas L. Winter, Orion R. Winter of Clatskanie, Alex Eastman, OR. The family will celebrate his life May 19, 2016 at God's House-107 Meadow View Road, at 6:00pm Knoxville, TN 37914.
