In loving memory of

Angeline E. Mccamy
April 1, 1930 - March 12, 2017

Angeline Elizabeth Farmer McCamy, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12th, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 1st, 1930, in Knoxville, TN, along with her twin sister Mary Farmer Galbreath. She was the daughter of Blaine and Retha Farmer, and sister to Jack Farmer. She graduated from Old Knoxville High School as well as the University of Tennessee in Home Economics. She married the love of her life, Samuel Carter McCamy Jr., who preceded her in death in 2002. They spent over 50 years together and loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Angie, also known lovingly as "Grammy" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many more, was as sweet as she was endearing. Some of her favorite things included getting her hair done, movie and lunch dates with her dear friends, enjoying dessert, going to church with her family, reading, anything to do with Oprah Winfrey, watching golf and UT football, working out with her friends at Cherokee Country Club, and Tri Delta sorority.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Carter McCamy III and his wife Susie, daughter Gail McCamy Wedekind and her husband David, and son Jeffrey Perry McCamy and his wife Pace, as well as her nine grandchildren, Angie Jedlicka (husband Andrew), Sarah Verzyden (husband Caleb), Spike McCamy, Callie Jubran (husband Nadim), Blaine Wedekind (wife Rachael), as well as Bogan, Jack, Johnny B. and Sam McCamy IV. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and three great-grandchildren - Cameron, Claire, and Lyla Mae - along with three more on the way, all due to make their arrival in the next few weeks.

She was beautiful inside and out and had a gift for making everyone she met feel special and important because she genuinely believed it to be true. She was not afraid to let people pamper her, but at the same time never complained about anything. Her charming smile, beautiful blue eyes and precious laugh could light up any room and will be deeply missed by all who adored and loved her so much.

A service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1610 Midpark Rd., Knoxville, TN, 37921, off of Middlebrook Pike) on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM, along with a celebration of life immediately following. There will be a private graveside memorial prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Friends of Tennessee's Babies with Special Needs, where Angie served on the Advisory Board (PO Box 544, Alcoa, TN, 37701-0544). Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the McCamy family and invites you to view and sign their online guestbook below.

Even I was glad that she was still around following your mom's passing...and that you had her in your life. I'm sure you had especially sweet times together these last few years. They are now reunited! They beat us all there. I look forward to walks on the heavenly beaches with her & you, Julie. I know your pastels of her will only be dearer to you now. May God, in Christ, continue to be near and especially comfort your hearts and give you complete Hope. We have much to look forward to. In Him, Tracy Jennette (Julie's friend, living in Nashville)"
