David Charles Mouron, age 88, passed away on September 15, 2018 after a short illness. He was the proud son of G. David Mouron and Swiss immigrant Elisa Bornard Mouron.
He graduated from Knoxville Central High School and the University of Tennessee. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He taught at La Follette High School where he coached girls' basketball. He retired after a successful career with Smith Kline Beecham. He was a member of St. Clare Episcopal Church in La Follette, TN. He also served as a trustee for the University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Garrett Mouron; an infant son; and his brothers Julien, Robert, and Louis Mouron.
David is survived by his wife Sandra Lovingood Mouron; sisters-in-law, Janice Garrett McArthur, and Katherine Mouron; children, David (Nan) Mouron Jr, Cathy (Jeff) Harvey, Cindy (John) Grzesiak, and Chris (Jennifer) Mouron; grandchildren and spouses, Taylor Harvey and Adam Young, Garrett Harvey, Zachary and Amanda Wheeler, Elizabeth Mouron and Matthew Hickle, David Mouron III, and Megan Grzesiak and great-granddaughter Ruth Hickle.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Anderson- Gouffon Cemetery, Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Anderson-Gouffon Cemetery in care of J. David Truan, 5303 Kesterbrook Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37918 or to the Nancy Mouron Fund at St. Nicholas School 7525 Min Tom Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
