William V. Tufts
June 10, 1961 - February 8, 2020

William Verney "Cannonball" Tufts, age 58 of Corryton, Tennessee previously of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at University of Tennessee Hospital. Bill was born on June 10, 1961. He is survived by his wife, Ada, and sons Christopher (Deborah) and Benjamin (Angeline) Newman. Grandchildren Elianna, Brianna and Jackson. Bill is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Edith Tufts. Bill attended Gahanna schools, was a member of Stonybrook Methodist Church, and attended Columbus Drafting Academy. Bill had many jobs over his lifetime and formed many lasting friendships. He loved working on and restoring older guns and classic cars, enjoyed music and most of all his family. He got his love of shooting from his father and was a member of the Lancaster Pistol and Gun Club and a proud lifetime member of the NRA. He also belonged to Million Dollar Vans in Gahanna where he earned his "Cannonball" name and was a member of the Central Ohio Camaro Club. A celebration of his life will follow at a later date in Tennessee and in Ohio for family and friends. "I can't believe he's gone my cousin whom I shared so much in common. He is in a better place now no more pain up there with his mom and dad. Later in life I wish Bill and I had lived closer together but then again if we did they would still be tallying up our mischief. Love you cousin!"
