William M. “Billy” Baker Jr. age 47 of Maquoketa Iowa died suddenly on December 252008.0 at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa Iowa.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday December 302008.0 from the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa with Rev. Gerald Gjerde officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. on Monday December 292008.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Andrew Iowa Cemetery.
William M. “Billy” Baker Jr. was born on December 8 1961 in Maquoketa Iowa to Willam A. Baker Sr. and Nancy J. (Streets) Baker. He was a 1980 graduate of Andrew Community High School.
“Billy” farmed with his family and had also worked at Hoof/Dynagear in Maquoketa for over ten years as a CNC operator and currently for O’Reilly’s in Maquoketa as a parts specialist for the past 4 years.
“Billy” was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River hunting for coon and squirrel camping NASCAR racing and most importantly spending time with his family.
“Billy” is survived by: his significant other of 12 years- Lura Daniels of Maquoketa IA; children- Skyler Mangler of Maquoketa IA William Baker III of Maquoketa IA Zachary Baker of Maquoketa IA & Taylin Baker of Maquoketa IA; his parents- William Sr. & Nancy Baker of Maquoketa IA; a brother- Brian Baker of Mt. Morris IL; a sister- Brenda (Darcy) Hankemeier of Maquoketa IA; & numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents a brother- Bruce a nephew- Christopher & a great-niece- Aleah.

Sometimes I had second thoughts though when he would give me a bunch of static at Obies although it was in fun & it wouldn't be Billy if he didn't. We always knew what he wanted to eat before he sat down to order. We all at Obies enjoyed visiting with him on his lunch hour. I would see him at Orielys & he would tell me the right parts I would need.But he was always a good guy.
