In loving memory of

Jason Dean Shannon
July 22, 1973 - February 15, 2020

Jason Dean Shannon, July 1973 - February 2020.

Jason passed away peacefully at home at the age of 46 from pancreatic cancer.

Born in Austin, Texas, he moved to Washington in 1986 when he was 13. Jason attended Best HS where he met so many good people who remain great friends to this day.

Jason was always interested in music, sports and adored the beauty of the world around him. He was a diehard fan of the Seahawks, Sounders, and Nascar. He could be counted on for accurate weather alerts and earthquake updates in Washington and California where one of his sisters lives. He was passionate about space and the galaxies. Jason admired and was fascinated by people who put themselves out on a limb to accomplish their dreams.

Jason's hobbies included camping and fishing. He discovered Banks Lake and inspired his friends to vacation there with him, and they have made it an annual summer event these last 15 years.

Most of all, Jason loved his family and friends, his "peeps". He is survived by his mother Sigrid, sisters Kristin and Karen, and his nephew Bud. Jason is lovingly remembered by family and a large circle of friends he has known for 30 years as "one of the most gentle, kind humans on the planet".

Donations can be made in his name to KEXP, or UW/Fred Hutchinson Pancreatic Cancer Research.
