Edna Raburn Kraft
Edna Kraft passed away gently on September 22, 2011 having lived a life full of zest and adventure. She was born in Ft. Thomas, Arizona on November 17, 1924 and remained in the state her entire life. As children of Arizona pioneers, Edna and her sister, LaVern and Alma had the intrepid and fearless spirit characteristic of the early Southwest. They called the tiny town of Duncan, Arizona their home. Edna married Ray (Sonny) Kraft on September 2, 1943, and at the end of WWII they moved to Phoenix, started a successful business and raised a family. Edna is survived by her daughters, Michaele Rae and Goldie Kraft; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michele Sease, Rob Roark, Kasie Henderson, Tim Sease, Kristin Sease, Erika Roark and Kylee Gutierrez-Sease; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She adored each and everyone and had the ability to make them all feel special. Edna had a passion for foreign travel and explored many countries around the globe. She believed the world and its people were fascinating and worth knowing much about. She had a talent for creating delightful special occasion parties and celebrations for friends and family. She was generous, mirthful, dauntless and charming. We will all miss her the rest of our lives. Finally, we would like to give a big THANK YOU to the staff at Desert Flower Senior Living for their kind and loving care of Edna and the support they extended to us during a difficult time. Please join us for a memorial service at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254 on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1PM. Edna's final interment next to her husband, Sonny, will be held at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. We think Edna might have preferred a donation to Hospice of the Valley, but flowers are lovely and appreciated too.
