"Bob was a wonderful person. He brought light into the lives of all those he knew. He always had a positive, happy, uplifiting spirit that he shared with others. We loved the visits and time we spent with him. I really enjoyed the golfing outings with Bob. He was a joy to play with, even when things didn’t go as planned on the course. He, like most golfers, enjoyed a game that could never be mastered, and he accepted that, but he immensely enjoyed the challenge along the way. The same way we should all live the life we have. We love him and will miss him. Our love to everyone. Travis Heflin Anne Heflin Kelsey Heflin Brandt Heflin"

"Judy, Debbie & Gregg Our prayers go out to you. Bob was a great friend. I remember all the work he put into the "Yankton Group" that came to the Phoenix area every year. All we had to do was to show up. Everything else was taken care of. We all also appreciated all the work Bob put into the Pro_Am for all those years. Bob will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Jeb & Judy Christensen Yankton"

"Dear Judy, Debbie, Greg and families, We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Bob’s illness and death. What a great picture you chose for this website. The picture was just the way I remember Uncle Bob. Seeing Bob’s wonderful big smile brought back many memories of his laughter and warm humor. He really lit up the room with that smile. I remember visits to Yankton. When Uncle Bob came home, he would greet us with his big voice and big bear hugs. What a great way to be welcomed! I will miss him. Please know that each of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We send our love and bear hugs to you. Love, Elizabeth, Ron, Sara and Joshua Snider (niece and family)"

"Bob was a wonderful, kind, and the most caring man with a quick wit and he loved to tease. Gary played golf with him many times throught the years and always had fun with Bob. Bob gave our 2 little greatchildren the thrill of their lives as he played Santa for them at our house. They would tell all their friends Santa came to see them in person...what a beautiful gesture. That’s the kind of man he was. He will be sorely missed by all BUT especially his loving wife of 50 years, Judy. Bob, you are in God’s hands now and no more pain will you to suffer......just golfing."

"My parents (Skeeter and Kay Brown) told us of Bob’s passing and we are so sorry to hear that he is gone. I remember meeting with you for lunch with my parents and being quite pregnant and Bob saying, "there is no denying it, you are definitely pregnant." Scott always enjoyed talking with you when you came into Outback and was saddened to her he passed away. He is definitely smiling down on everyone!"

"Judy and Family: I recall earlier days and the fun we had. I emailed Bob recently about our history and the good times. He wrote expecially speaking of Bev who died way too young. Bob was a fine guy. Best to you. John P. Blackburn"

"Dearest Judy, Debbie, Greg and Family, You are in our thoughts and prayers today and everyday. What a wonderful family you are. We know the joy and zest for living your Bob shared with all of the family. He loved you so. All who knew and loved him are saddened by his passing. Oh, how we miss him. He left behind such a big hole...his presence, his laughter, his big smile with humor and sparkle in his eyes, his love, his sharp business mind, his wonderful gift of friendship and generosity, and his caring across the years of his life. He was an inspiration to all of us and we give thanks for his life. May the good Lord hold each of you, his family, in the palm of His loving hand. Nancy and Ken Heflin and Family"

"Bob will always be Cherokee to me, one of the first friends i had in Yankton. He was a talented athlete and a smart businessman even as a teenager. We had a lot of good times together (maybe too good at state basketball tournaments!) and i can still hear his great laugh. God bless Cherokee. Tom Brokaw"

"Hello to the Stewart family. My family lived two houses down from the Stewarts on Pine Street in Yankton, and Chet and Bob used to bring the ponies home to take all the neighborhood kids on wagon rides or sleigh rides in the snow. And Mary sometimes let the little neighbor girls tour her playhouse. What great memories of life on Pine Street! My brother just sent me a picture of one of the wagon trips with Bob at the reins, and I’ll send it to you if you like. Just e-mail me or call me. Godspeed to Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jean Novotny, Phoenix"

"I too will always remember Bob as Cherokee. We had some good times our senior year of High School (GPMO) and the years we spent in Yankton after Kay and me were married. I always appreciated that you agreed to be our Best Man. You always treated us with respect and that ment a lot to us. You will be missed by us both. Rest in peace Cherokee."
