Tributes

Joyce Bonnel Reese wrote on Mar 24, 2014:

"I\'m sorry to hear of Harold\'s passing. My condolences to his family. Probably ten years ago, I connected with Harold (probably on RootsWeb or Ancestry) and found out that we were related. I believe our 3rd great grandfathers were brothers. My Bonnels dropped the second l and stayed up in northern Kansas and Missouri. I am from Kansas City, Missouri. I heard about Harold\'s death through a niece of mine who sent me the Wichita obituary asking me if we were related. It is a small world - two of Harold\'s nephews graduated from the same high school (Spanish Fork High in Spanish Fork, Utah) as two of my children."

Charlotte Siegel wrote on Mar 22, 2014:

"Kristy and Family I heard the news about Harold after the obituary was posted in the Wichita, KS newspaper. My sister, Debbie, saw it and sent me a copy. When I read the wonderful tribute to his life, I just sat at my desk at work and cried on Thursday. Harold was a dear cousin to me and all of the earlier-born cousins got to play together in Winfield, KS when we were kids growing up. I can envision that light blonde hair that Harold had along with that mischevious smile. My parents, Charles and Betty Douglas, had moved to Wichita, but we went to Winfield every Sunday. It was me, my brother Rick, Harold and Bobby (now Robert) who played as children growing up. I really wish I were still living in Phoenix so that I could have spent more time with Harold and Kristy and got to know the kids better. I am so happy that we all got to see each other at Aunt Birdie\'s funeral several years ago. While it would have been difficult to fly from Stamford, CT to Phoenix for the memorial, I did consider it. My thoughts and prayers to Kristy and all the family. Harold was a good man, a wonderful cousin and he will be missed. I will always remember the good times we had together. The next time I come to Phoenix, I will contact Kristy so that we can spend some time visiting. My prayers to everyone."

"Oh Harry, you will be missed dearly. You and I and your whole entire family from the times when we were kids all the way up to being a parent and grandparent. Brenda and I have spoken many times of the way things were back then and I talk about what a great father you were to all of those children you and Kristy had. You guys were the most laid back people ever. There is never good words to share at a time like this that will help. But Harry is with God now and he knows all of the answers and will learn even more. I know that Birdie has got him in her arms as we speak. Knowing Harry what? Since I was in 7th grade, now that was a trip. Harry was the best person in the world. He would help people with anything at anytime. He was just that kind of person and so was his family. Kristy, I know loss is hard but things will work out just fine in time. You still have time left on this earth and Harry will be waiting for you in the Kingdom of Heaven. I will be praying for you and yours. Sincerely, Becky Davis Wichita, KS 67218"
