"Sandy" Alexandra Elizabeth Gercke (Beverly Leonard) received her heavenly promotion on August 4, 2016, after fighting a brave and valiant battle against cancer for the last seven years. Sandy was born on April 30, 1948, in Arizona, to Dr. Robert and Joey Nell Leonard. She graduated from Central High School and ASU (Go Sun Devils!). Sandy loved the Lord, her family, her church community, her bible study groups and her many friends more than anything in the world. Sandy is survived by her devoted best friend and closest companion, Ron Gercke, as well as her precious children, sons-in-love, and beloved grandchildren: Lesley Anne Gercke (former partner, Michael Nave; children, Madeleine and Murphy); Bo Ryan Gercke; Lizzy Ducar (husband, Tim; children Dallas, Dillan, Dakota, Francie, Elizabeth, Alexandra, and Caroline); Patty Sicard (husband, Michael; children, Madisyn and Liam); Teddy Gercke; and step-daughter Ginny DiJulio (children, Ashlyn, Ronnie, Amber, and Nikki). Friends and family are invited to join us for a joyful celebration of Sandy's life at Valley View Bible Church (4222 E. Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley, AZ) on Saturday, August 13th at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow. Sandy's wish is that guests will come dressed for a beach celebration and not a funeral. Hawaiian shirts and bright colors are encouraged!
