The world lost a beautiful man and kind soul with the sudden passing of Brian Hein who passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
Brian was born February 23, 1963 at The UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca. He moved to Nebraska when he was 11 years old. He graduated from Lincoln High School, where he quarterbacked the Links football team. He studied Architecture at the University of Nebraska and was a "die hard Cornhusker"! Once graduated he entered the Architecture field and hated it, found a passion for finances and became a successful financial advisor. He spent 22 years of his career as a Senior Vice President, Retirement Plan Consulting Director at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney before moving to HighTower Advisors as a Director, Partner, Retirement Plan Consulting.
Brian had a passion for sports, he spent his life dedicated to the athletic and character development of his sons and the Scottsdale Community. Along with coaching football and baseball he was a member of the Chaparral Firebird Football Foundation and was President the past three years, where he was instrumental in shaping the Chaparral football program into what it is today.
Brian lived life to the fullest and appreciated every moment. He was compassionate, thoughtful and generous. Brian had a huge personality and brought the best out in everyone. When Brian was in a room he made his presence known, you never had to ask where he was and you never had to look for him - all you had to do was open your ears and the sound of his voice traveled from your head to your toes. He had a special name for everyone, he treated each person in his life in a special way. Brian always put others before himself.
Brian lived his life for his beautiful wife Kelly his amazing four sons Brandon, Jordon, Auston and Dalton. Also survived by his parents, Annie and DeWayne Hein, In-Laws Jane and Terry Hart, Sister and Brother-in-Law Kimberly and Russ Butler, Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law Meagan and Greg Trevizo, Nephews: Andrew, Zack, Max, and Julian, Nieces: Isabel and Alexis.
Let's wrap our arms around this family and give them the love and support they need during this tragedy.

"I was devastated to hear that Brian had passed in August, 2016. Brian was a dear childhood friend of mine. Our friendship began around 1976. Brian had moved to Lincoln with his mother Annie, step father Dewayne and baby sister Kimberly.
As junior high school aged boys Brian and I were best friends. We sought to discover the world and how to assume our place in it. We laughed a lot. My mother?s declaration that Brain was ?a good boy? spoke volumes to me. Brian, Annie and Dewayne drove me to the emergency room in a ?57 Chevy after I sustained a minor puncture wound to my lip while playing at the Belmont swimming pool. Brian urged Annie to help me get a payroll check from the ?mean lady? manager at the telemarketing company we worked at part-time one summer. Brian taught me how to wrestle; I taught Brian how to box. I blame Brian for my habit of listening to the radio when I go to sleep each night. As campaign manager Brian had the bright idea of beginning a speech for student council president with, ?What?s in a name? I will tell you?? We won. Brian was a good friend in junior high and into high school.
Although I strayed from high school into Marine Corps in ?79 I would stay in touch with him. We last spoke on the phone around 2003. In that phone conversation I shared my career concerns with him after transitioning out of the Corps. He reminded me of the youthful spirit we had shared as kids. During that phone conversation Brian helped awaken that spirit in me and motivated me to continue to drive hard towards my career goals. I remember Brian said something like ?if this is the LeRoy Acosta I know you won?t have any trouble doing X.?
Brian spoke fondly of his family, Dewayne, Annie and Kimmie. And from time to time I would see Kimberly?s on-line activity. To this day I always look for Brian?s little sister Kimberly on airline flights (unsure if she is still flight attendant).
I just looked at images of Brian and his sons on-line. I was fascinated to see Brian in the faces and stature of his young men. I never met his wife and sons. Brian passed too soon. I have no doubt Brian?s sons will take care of business, discover the world and assume their place.
In a world full of winners Brian was a champion. I count myself lucky to have known Brian L. Hein.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

"Kelly and boys,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Brian's passing. I spent time with Brian during Todd and I's 10 years together. He always had us both laughing. He was Todd's best, life long friend. He was truly heartbroken when he called to tell me that Brian had passed. We all know that you and the boys were the light of Brian's life. My son's were blessed to know "Uncle Brian". He was always so good to them both. I told Kason that because Brian is his Godfather, he has an extra special, silly, angel watching over him:). Even though we never met in person, please know that I am sending my deepest sympathies and lifting your family in prayer.

"Brian, I don't know if you know how many people lives that you have touched, changed, and made a difference in, I think not. We all who have come to know you as the "Big Cheese" friend or however are shaken and lost. Who are we going to call now, who is the answer man, let's get it done man, just who is going to be the take charge guy.
Brother you will be so dearly missed by so many lives that you have already touched and many many more yet to come because of the ground work and leadership that you shown us. Thank you for allowing me just a little glimpse of glory."
