Geraldine (Jeri) Pollock Mang, 86, died peacefully on September 4, 2016. Jeri was born in Provo, Utah to Albert and Fontella Pollock. The youngest of five, she grew up in Bingham, Utah. Jeri attended Utah State, where she majored in English and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
In 1952, she married George Phillip Mang III. They remained happily married until his death in 2001. Together, they raised three children, George IV, Curtice and Greta. Jeri was a great mom and loyal friend. She was independent and tough. She was also proud of her forty-one years of sobriety. In addition to her children, she is survived by four grandchildren, Jessica, George V, Mathew and Nathan and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sienna and Ruby.
Jeri's family appreciates the support and friendship of Bill and Sherry Calvin and will be forever grateful to the staff at Evergreen Assisted Living, Martha, Rebecca, Roza and Ted. They provided outstanding care and ensured Jeri was safe and happy. She left this world surrounded by love. No services are planned.

"I am a long-time friend of Greta and enjoyed many years of lunches with Greta & Jeri at Olive Garden, sharing soup, salad, tuxedo mousse cake, and a lot of laughs. She was my third favorite mom after my own and my stepmother. I know the special relationship she and Greta shared. Jeri was a very special person and it was a privilege to have her consider me a friend. My deepest sympathy to the family, but it was her time and I hope the knowledge that she departed peacefully is a comfort to all who knew her."

2nd Condolence. I am Van's daughter Susann, and I would also like to share how as a child I was so impressed by Jeri's stylishness, so modern I thought and her determination to have her home and clothes just the way she wanted it even it that meant going without until she could save up to get what she wanted. I remember telling me that. Impressed me for sure. She and George were a fun couple and I remember many visits and travels and parties my parents shared with them. She was a wonderful woman."

"I was initially struck with sadness when reading of Geri?s passing. Then I realized she is probably so happy to be back with George and to have her memories and thoughts back, as they should be. Geri was one of those people who come into a life and you are never the same afterward. I remember the phone calls to my mom from Geri that would last forever with a great deal of laughter. The many times our families were together before you moved to Phoenix. My parents loved getting together with the Mangs and the many travels they shared. The world has lost a great person and Heaven has gained another angel to watch over all of you. May you find peace in knowing she is free and remember the wonderful person she was. My love and prayers are with all of you. Ruth Reese Peters"
