Vincent Joseph Messina Jr., WWII Veteran (USMC-Pacific Theater), age 91, of Phoenix, AZ was called home by his heavenly father, Jesus Christ on May 5, 2017.
He was born in New Orleans, LA on November 11, 1925 to Vincent Joseph Messina Sr. and Anna Emily (Tallon) Messina. Vincent enjoyed a career in banking for over 39 years. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed playing tennis and golf for many years, and was also an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Joseph Messina Sr. and Anna Emily Messina; and his sister, Gloria Anderson and brother-in-law, Albert Anderson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Lou Messina; and his three sons, Robert (Shirley), Gary (Georgene), and Guy (Rebecca); step-daughter, Christine (John) Geske, step-son, Stephen (Tammy) Schluter, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a private family viewing at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 from 12-1pm. Military Grave Site Services will be held at 1:30 pm at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd (corner of Pinnacle Peak Rd), Phoenix, AZ 85024, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3:00pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4930 E.
