Alan, 68, passed away June 23 2017. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Marilyn (Inoshita) Tang; his son, Michael Tang; his daughter, Tracey Tang; two brothers, Norman and Roland Tang; as well as their spouses, Bonnie and Shirley. Born and raised in Phoenix, the son of Jim and Phyllis Tang, he long believed in the principles of honesty, hard work and investing for the future. Alan graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1966. He would attend ASU and later earned a Masters in Pharmacy from the U of A in 1973. He met his wife, Marilyn, the love of his life, and they were married in 1982. Alan worked as a pharmacist for thirty-three years, and helped his brothers run a property management company. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 1998, and was one of the first Asian American stand-up comedians in the valley. He loved Christmas, the Arizona Cardinals and all things ASU, but he loved his family, his friends and his pets, cherishing these above all else. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM Friday July 7, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday July 8, 2017. Both will be conducted at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020 and will be open to friends and family. Visit http://www.hansenmortuary.com for condolences.

"I no longer live in Phoenix, but I was just told the sad news by a colleague that lives there. I had the pleasure of working with Alan as my colleague in pharmacy from 1996-2003. He was always smiling, made me laugh, and he was a fellow Trekkie! I have never forgotten our years in practice together and will always fondly remember him. God's peace to his friends and family. You are missed Alan!!"

"The following are some of the best times and activities with Alan that I remember and cherished. Alan was Norman and my little brother. Alan loved music, he listened to country western music when he was young, then Norman and I introduced him to Rock and Roll and Rythym and Blues and from there on, he listened to all three types of music. He enjoyed going to performances and musicals with Marilyn at ASU's Grady Gammage.
Another thing that he liked was going to the movies. He always went the to latest movies almost as soon as they came to the theater. Buying him birthday and Christmas gifts was easy, I would just buy movie gift cards for him.
He loved all kinds of sports especially the SUNS, Cardinals and ASU footbal and basketball.. All 3-brothers enloyed going to the casino, eating at the all-you-can eat buffets, then play the slot machines hoping to win a big jackpot.
Alan was my texting buddy. We would watch a lot of the same tv shows and text comments during the shows. We do the same for the Cardinal games when they played away that week.
Alan was always very generous. For birthdays and Christmas, Alan would always give Norman and me gifts that were were the latest technology and were fun and useful, which was basically what he would buy for himself.
Alan loved Christmas, sometimes he would decorate the house and put up the christmas trees as early as October. Finally, Alan loved his dogs and they loved him, as of today, they still wait for Alan to come home.Alan, may you rest in peace, your brother."

"I'm very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Alan personally but volunteer to encourage family and friends who have lost a loved one with a scriptural hope when sickness will be removed forever as promised at Isaiah 33:24. May you find this comforting knowing God will bring an end to suffering soon. Rev 21:4"
