Wanda Vaughan died February 10, 2018. She was born in Scranton, PA, daughter of John and Mary Dende on March 14, 1928. She was a graduate of Central High School and Marywood College - Class of 1949. She retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections in April 1991. She and her husband Richard traveled extensively in their motor home and later stayed at the Kit Karson RV camp in Flagstaff, AZ.; went on 5 cruises and enjoyed retirement to the fullest.
She belonged to St. Joan of Arc Church, the Legion of Mary and was an extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. Wanda was a 50-year member of the American Business Women's Association. She outlived her brothers: Rev. Cornelian Dende, Edward Dende, Henry J. Dende, Richard A. Dende, Raymond A. Dende, and sister, Eleonore Drahan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and best friends Al and Rosemary.
Visitation and Rosary will be 9:30 - 11:00 am with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 22 at St. Joan of Arc Church 3801 E. Greenway, Phoenix.
