Natalie Brigance wrote on Mar 28, 2019:

"I just want to let you, the family know, how saddened I am to hear of Manny's passing. I worked with him for many years at the University of New Mexico where he brought the Latino Summit to the University of New Mexico several different years and made a difference for many Latinos throughout universities nationwide. Every time we spoke he was very positive and I always thought very highly of him. He was a man of integrity and I respected him very much. When we last spoke earlier this year he was still Manny, very positive and happy. I will remember him fondly ... always."
