Joel May, 61, of Glenwood, IA, passed away at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Private family funeral services will be held at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be at the Martin Chapel Cemetery north of Pacific Junction, IA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
OBITUARY
Joel Everett May, 61 of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away on March 3, 2020 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Joel was born on July 9, 1958 in Beaver, Oklahoma, one of five children of Robert Kenneth and Betty Ellen (Cook) May. He graduated from high school and worked in the trucking industry.
Joel enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns, especially ones with John Wayne. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids, and was a good friend to all who knew him.
Joel was preceded in death by his father; and granddaughter Aliyanna.
Joel is survived by his children, Joseph (Hollie) Isenbart of Glenwood, Justin (Vanna) May of Glenwood, Rachel May and fiancé C.J. Newman of Pacific Junction, IA, and Hannah May and fiancé Kyle McDougall of Glenwood; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Betty May of Bear Creek, NC; siblings, Lisa (Donnie) Anstaett of Osage City, KS, Connie May of Smithfield, NC, Eric (Barbara) May of Siler City, NC, and Carrie (Richard) Berube of Bear Creek, NC; and other relatives and friends.
