"Sylvia was a lovely lady who always brought a smile to my face. She was so kind and caring, concerned for everyone in her circle and beyond. She had a mischievous sense of humor and loved to laugh. All traits she passed on to her wonderful children. I was very blessed to have known her and I am blessed with the gifts she has given me in Sheila and Debra, and all their wonderful family. We will miss her. "

Sylvia Brodofsky, 87, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. Sylvia was born on July 20, 1932 in Memphis, TN.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Ike Brodofsky. She is survived by her four children, David Saks of Memphis, TN., Ralph Sacks and his wife Lisa of Covington, LA., Sheila Christensen and her husband Michael of Conroe, TX., and Debra Miller and her husband Lee of Kingwood, TX.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Jean Garmon of Dallas, TX.; brother, Melvin Brodofsky and wife Carol of Atlanta, GA.; brother, Sidney Brodofsky and wife Paula; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Proler Chapel at Beth Israel Memorial Garden, 1101 Antione Dr. Houston, TX 77055. The graveside service will immediately follow.

As we mature and become adults, we become more capable of appreciating our mother. This is when we connect with her and realize how special and wonderful she was and always will be. My mama was the very "heart and soul" of our family. Sometimes we simply forget, and sometimes we just assume that they already know how we feel. We tend to wonder if she really knew how much we loved her. But, Sheila, Debra, Ralph, all of mama's beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren , her family and friends, I'm sorry that I can't be with you this day. My brother and my sister's understand why, but through my brother and my sisters this gives me the chance to express my love and gratitude for my mama, and for all of you.
