In loving memory of

Barbara B. Mohrbacher
December 3, 1931 - March 4, 2020

Barbara Mohrbacher, 88, of Maple Glen, PA, passed away on March 5th with her family at her side. She was born to the late John and Beatrice Berggren on December 3rd, 1931, in Aurora, NE, and grew up on the family farm with four siblings. She graduated from Aurora High and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska in 1954.

She married Richard Mohrbacher--a teaching assistant for her college chemistry course--in 1956. She is survived by her husband and their six children: Carl Mohrbacher of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, John Mohrbacher of Boston, MA, Ann Mohrbacher of Altadena, CA, Jean Nelson of Altadena, CA, Robert Jensen of Pottstown, PA and Kirk Jensen of Benton, ME. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Barbara worked as a medical lab technician before having her children and again after they left home. She was a long-time member of the League of Women Voters and served as president of the local chapter for several years. In the 1980s, she and Richard welcomed the Jensen brothers into the family when they were young teens in the foster care system. Robert and Kirk Jensen have remained close members of the family.

Barbara was a faithful contributor to many good causes. In particular, she and Richard helped found and operate a scholarship fund through their parish to help needy inner-city children attend their local Philadelphia Catholic school. She read widely and enjoyed discussing world events and human nature, often with great insight and concern for justice. But her greatest gift was listening with sensitivity and depth. Her empathy often strengthened others and helped them find their way.

Relatives and Friends are invited call on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Alphonsus Church 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Pastor Rev. Msgr. Brian P. Hennessy. Inurnment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
