"Don loved to buy and sell cars, and after detailing them, would bring them up to Bemidji to sell for some extra cash and pay for the trip north. Some of his most memorable were a 1957 Chevy 2-door, a 1960 Buick Invicta, and my favorite, a 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop, two tone white and turquoise. After college graduation, he helped me find my first nice car, a 1968 Chevy Caprice 2 door hardtop, which was totally opposite of what Dad thought that I should buy. Our families did many things together when we were younger, especially on holidays, along with camping and fishing at Red Lake, an annual Memorial Day event. Don was not afraid of hard work, and He and I spend many hours mixing cement to build the family swimming pool. Don made a huge impact on my life and left us with many good memories.
