"I could write a book about all the good times Johnetta and I have shared ! We were friends about 25 years and our connection in the beginning was Jamaica . Together we spent countless hours volunteering at Blosom Garden Orphanage in Montego Bay, holding babies and playing with the toddlers. All of our time spent in Jamaica was always full of laughter and fun! We weathered a hurricane there in 2004 and even turned that into a great memory. We rented a 55 foot houseboat with 9 women friends and took a five day trip down the Mississippi River from Wisconsin . We loved to shop together! I still have things I bought when I was shopping with her that remind me of our fun times. My greatest contribution to her life was probably when I taught her to play MahJongg! She loved that game and went on to make it her main social affair! Everything we shared together will live on in my heart. I am crushed that she is gone but I will never forget her. Our friendship was truely a special gift from God. May peace and love be with her family in the coming days. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory that no one can steal.""
"Sending my prayers and condolences ? heaven gained a beautiful woman."

"I met Johnetta in 1988 when we were neighbors for a short time in Phoenix. We immediately became fast friends as she had a way of collecting people. It was her calling in life. I went home to Tampa but we always kept in touch. Some vacation time was spent with her in Arizona, Jamaica and we travelled to Europe. What great times we had. I shall never forget her generosity, kindness, love, friendship and devotion. My condolences to the family."

She served as a role-model and mentor for me as we developed a friendly relationship as Sorors. Her laughter and sage words of wisdom still ring in my ears. ?May memories of Johnetta and the love of God and family surround you and give you strength in the days ahead. Sincerely, Yvonne W.
