In loving memory of

Annie Coury

Coury, Annie (Joan), 69, ended her long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsey (see PSP.org).

Annie was born in the Philippines in 1948. She permanently moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school, Glendale High School and the University of Arizona. She later obtained a Masters's degree from ASU.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tim Coury, daughters Elizabeth Compiseno (Matt), Alexis Regan (Patrick), grandchildren Jaxon and Emerie, sisters Joyce Lange and Jeannette Morrocco (Dave), and brother Jeff (Kathy).

Annie had a calling for working with young people. She taught at Apollo High School in Glendale for 9 years, Phoenix Community College for 6 years and she spent 17 years as a counselor at Peoria High School. Annie had an upbeat, joyous personality and she brought a smile to everyone she met. She was the anchor to her family and she is missed.

"So sorry to hear of Annie's passing. We were neighbors in Glendale (1975-78) and my ex-husband, Jim DeWitt, sold Tim and Annie their Cavalier Home. We had great times together at neighborhood parties and impromptu dinners. Annie was so fun to be around and she was always such a Bright Star. She had an Inner Glow about her and everyone at our gatherings wanted to be around her. I remember when Elizabeth was born...and then Alexis. Such a joyous time for their proud parents. We moved away and lost touch, but I'll never forget Annie and the impact she made on my life."
