Herbert Charles Francis Friese, Jr., age 90, died on October 9, 2014 in New Jersey following 90 years of interesting and adventurous living.
Born in Massachusetts on June 25, 1924, Herb became a sailor, Merchant Marine, Lt. Commander in the US Navy, NYC police lieutenant, founding faculty at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a professor at Burlington County College.
He is survived by 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a plethora of extended family and friends. Herb is predeceased by wives Agnes (Doran) Friese and Patricia Barnes as well as his parents and twin sister Eleanor Tolman.
The family requests that you celebrate his life in a way that reflects how you knew him and make donations in his name to a charity of your choice.
