Doris Hope Patterson Manning
August 16, 1922 - September 17, 2014

Doris Hope Patterson Manning (nee Hille), a Collingswood resident since 1953, lost her battle with cancer on September 17, 2014 at the age of 92.


Survived by her son Ronald C. Patterson and his wife Karen of Schertz, TX, granddaughter Amy Maruschak and husband James of Jackson, MI, grandson Brian C. Patterson of Albuquerque, NM, two great grandchildren, Allison and Carter Maruschak, her sister Lucille Koss of Richmond, TX and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.


Preceding her in death were her first husband Charles Patterson, a WWII Normandy Beach survivor who died in 1969 and her second husband John Manning, also a WWII Naval survivor, and her brother Frank O. Hille, Jr., an Army WWII veteran of the Pacific Theater, all of Collingswood.


Doris was a hard worker and lived a long, productive life. She worked at the New York Shipyard during WWII and in the clothing industry for the Pearl Garment Co. for 30 years and was a top line machine operator. Doris was instrumental in helping her brother, Frank Hille, establish and operate a thriving upholstery business which his daughter, Sherry Harvey, still operates.


After retiring, Doris loved going to the Garden State Race Track, casino, and she was a passionate golf fan.


Doris was always very generous to her family and friends and charities, therefore, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing 10 to 11am Saturday morning, September 27, at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, NJ.


Funeral Service 11am at the funeral home.


Interment Egg Harbor City Cemetery, Egg Harbor City, NJ.
