Ethel Hollenbaugh
July 17, 1925 - January 21, 2014
Ethel Hollenbaugh (nee Mahoney), of Runnemede, NJ, age 88, passed into Eternity on January 21, 2014 at the home of her niece Maryann.
Ethel was predeceased by her loving husband George of 50 years of marriage. Also predeceased by her brother Joe Mahoney, sisters Aileen (Betty) Nolan and Mary Collins, and brother-in-law Clarence Nolan.
Survived by nieces Eileen Thomas (the late Barry), Maryann Hollenbaugh Dotegowski (Mike) and nephews Stephen Nolan (Danielle) and John Hollenbaugh (LaLa). Also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins and brother-in-law Donald Collins.
Ethel had a passion for animals, always taking time to shelter and feed them. She especially loved her stray cats that she felt comforted by. Ethel was active in many senior citizen groups, always volunteering her time, including the Lakeland Seniors. She and George were very involved in local politics during the 60s and 70s. Ethel loved tending to her garden and making floral arrangements for others with the flowers she grew.
Ethel received special love and care from friends Stacy and Dan Flury, Pastor John Young, and the family of the New Covenant Community Church of Audubon and Lisa, Solanyi and Sophia, and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice who ALL were wonderful to her.
There will be a visitation from 11am to 12noon Saturday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
Memorial Mass 12:30pm Saturday at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa's RC Church, Runnemede.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ethel's memory to Animal Orphanage, PO Box 1363, 419 Cooper Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043 or to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 11 Independence Way, Newark, DE 19713.
