Michael P. Dennis
March 15, 1948 - February 5, 2020

Michael P. Dennis, on February 5, 2020, of Cherry Hill. Age 71.

Beloved husband of Cathy (nee Shellenberger). Loving step-father of Brian Whitney, Kevin Whitney (Pam) and Timothy Whitney (Gina). Devoted grandfather of Maria Qualtieri, Vincent, Giana, Marcella, Elizabeth and Maeve Whitney. Dear brother of Mary Sue Slagle (the late Gary), Patrick Dennis (Michelle), Theresa Janusz (Ron) and Samuel Dennis. Son of the late Paul C. and Dorothea (nee Eder) Dennis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Dennis attended Berklee School of Music in Boston, New England Conservatory of Music, University of Delaware, Rider University, Rutgers University and Strassford University in England. Mr. Dennis taught at Rutgers, Chestnut Hill, Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, Burlington City High School and Crossman Drum and Bugle Corp. He was a member of Orpheus Club of Philadelphia.

Mr. Dennis worked for Kennedy Health System, Virtua Health System and PROVunclar and Earle, Palmer, Brown and Associates. Music was his passion. He played all instruments, mostly brass. He designed, repaired and built brass instruments. Mr. Dennis loved to golf, sail and loved his red Porsche. He was a wonderful man who touched many.

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8pm Sunday eve and 9:15 to 10:15am Monday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am Monday Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa RC Church, Runnemede.

Interment private.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. Dennis’ memory to Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, 125 County House Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012.
