Orazio A. Cerami
September 18, 1927 - July 16, 2012

Orazio Anthony Cerami, on July 16, 2012, of Bellmawr, Age 84.


Beloved husband of Lillian (nee Prokapus) for 57 years. Loving father of Anthony Cerami (AnnaMarie), Jeanne Passanante (Gary), Carol Trumbetti (Earl), Mary Sue Cerami and Nancy Meighan (Jim). Dear brother of Marie Laxton (Arthur) and the late Rudy and Joe Cerami and Mae Romano. Devoted grandfather of Steven and Tyler Passanante, Ashley Cerami, and Alyssa, Regina, Ian and Kyle Meighan. Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.


Mr. Cerami proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Alaska where he served as an Army Chaplain and as a photographer. He was honorably discharged in November 1952.


Orazio (known to his coworkers as Art) worked for the RCA Corporation in Camden, NJ as a Drafting and Standards Manager for 33 years. He also received his teaching degree from Rutgers University in 1975 and taught drafting in the evenings.


Orazio was a former member of the Cherry Hill Chapter of the Pine Barrons Barbershop Chorus and a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Bellmawr Fire and Rescue Squad #1, the National Rifle Association and the Bellmawr School Board.


Orazio was involved with the development, design and building of the Bell Oaks Elementary School and helped design the home that he and his family lived in.


While Orazio loved his Lincoln Continentals, his true love was for his family. He will be sorely missed.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 7 to 9pm Thursday eve and 9:15 to 10:15am Friday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Mass 11am Friday at St. Rita of Cascia Parish, Mary, Mother of the Church, Bellmawr. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Orazio's name to the Hydrocephalus Association, 870 Market Street, Suite 705, San Francisco, CA 94102.
