Joseph E. Aubrey
August 4, 1925 - August 25, 2012

Joseph E. Aubrey, on August 25, 2012, of Runnemede. Age 87.


Beloved father of Joseph (Annamarie), Daniel (Liz) and the late Catherine Bender and John Aubrey. Dear brother of Regina Reilly, Charles, Edward (Peggy) and George Aubrey and the late Francis, James, Adele, Margaret, Marie, Veronica and Madeline. Loving grandfather of Leslie, Joseph, Stephen, Byron, Ava, Lindsey, Megan, Joseph and the late Aubrey. Great grandfather of Cheyanne, Shawn, Korey, Logan, Preston and the late Gavin. Also survived by his heart and soul mate, dear friend Marie Paull.


At age 17 Mr. Aubrey joined the U.S. Navy, serving first in the Atlantic and then the Pacific Theaters of War attaining the rank of Boatswain Mate 1/c. He also served on a sub chaser in the Atlantic Ocean and on a trooptransport in the Pacific Theater taking part in the occupation of Japan on October 2, 1945.


Mr. Aubrey retired after 44 years of working as an engraver for the Curtis Publishing Co., N.W. Ayer Advertising Co. as a printer, then as a maintenance engineer for the Richard I. Rubin Co., all in Philadelphia.


Mr. Aubrey was a member and past grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus,a member of the Runnemede Senior Citizens Club and the J.F. Kennedy Democrat Club.


He was an active member and parishioner of Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti RC Church in Runnemede, where he was an usher for the past 20 years. He was a past member of the parish council and a maintenance person at the church for seven years.


He most recently worked as a bailiff at the Runnemede Municipal Court.


There will be a viewing from 8:15 to 10:15am Wednesday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Mass 11am at Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti RC Church, Runnemede.


Interment Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.


The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Mr. Aubrey's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
