MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael Day, 80, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Private Graveside Service will be at a later date. Pastor David McIntosh from Hillcrest Baptist Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be his seven grandchildren, Joshua Day, Matthew Day, Britt Noble, Johnathan Day, Hailey Day, Jessica Day, and Christopher Day. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nine great grandchildren, Harper Day, Brooks Day, Laila Day, Paige Day, McKayla Day, Carlee Day, Hazel Day, Danica Day, and Easton Speed. The Ralph J. Michael was born on January 10, 1940, in Iowa City. He married Brenda Krueger, on January 11, 1964, at Musserville Methodist Church in Muscatine.
He retired from Bandag as a supervisor after working there for 30 years. Michael enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. In his spare time, he also enjoyed gardening. Michael played fast and slow pitch softball. He loved to watch his sons and grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Muscatine; two sons, Robert 'Bob' Day and his wife, Stephanie, of Muscatine and Scott Day and his wife, Diane, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Laura Adams of West Liberty.
He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Melvin, Lloyd, Ivan, Kenneth, and Elmus in infancy; three sisters, Velma, Marie, and Marjorie.

"We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Mike (Butch to us kids) was always a favorite! I remember him taking us fishing with his buddy Gene Goddard to catch "sunnies" for supper.
