Kenneth Wayne Daugherty, of Austin, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2020. He was born on October 19, 1940, in Sherman, Texas to John and Ruby Daugherty.
Kenneth received an Engineering Degree from North Texas State University. He retired from IBM as a System Engineer after 30 years and worked as a System Engineer with Fed Data. He also worked with the VA Engineering Department to ensure the Veterans received the care they earned and retired March 2019. Kenneth and several fathers started the Town & Country Youth Sports League where he literally built the fields and coached numerous teams.
Kenneth was preceded in death by parents John Paul Daugherty & Ruby Opal Daugherty, sister, Mary, and brother, John Paul Daugherty, Jr. Kenneth was a loyal husband for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Daugherty, sons, Darrell Daugherty, Darren Daugherty, Derrick Daugherty, grandsons Kyle Daugherty, Conner Daugherty, Owen Daugherty, Ryan Daugherty, sisters, Maxine Ridgedell and Molly Russell.
There are no funeral services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway, Austin, TX 78751.
