Kathleen F. Evans, 77, of Red Hook, NY, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
She was born on February 22, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late William and Virginia (Rosco) Ford.
Kathleen was married in NYC on July 15, 1961 to the love of her life, George G. Evans and they shared 59 years of love, devotion and companionship. Kathleen and her young family lived in Queens, NY until 1971 and then moved with George and their two daughters to Red Hook, NY, where she spent the rest of her years.
Kathleen dedicated her time to raising her two daughters, always providing them with an abundance of love and support. She later worked for Red Hook Central School District where she was a special education aide and took great satisfaction in supporting Red Hook's children. Her love and passion for children with special needs was recognized by many.
Kathleen adored animals, wildlife and the beauty of the Hudson Valley. She truly appreciated the people and the world around her. Her love of birds included years of maintaining her birdfeeders and admiring the beauty of these delicate creatures. She will be remembered for her very kind heart, special words and smile to all she met.
She is survived by her loving husband George Evans, her daughters, Deborah Evans Meddaugh of Dallas, TX and Christine Lottman (Brian) of Ladera Ranch, CA, her sisters, Virginia Fairbrother, of Arlington, VA, Judy Carmel and Lori Blais, of Fredericksburg, VA, her adored grandchildren, Courtney and Nicole Meddaugh, Evan and Emma Lottman, and her treasured nieces and their families.

Allison just started school, she was in the second grade and she came home one day and was so excited, she made a friend, her name was Christine. We made a play date. I took her over to the Evan's house and met you and we were friends from then on. We had good times, sad times, and happy times. I will miss you very much. Your friend forever Barbarann ?"
"Kathy a/k/a Mrs. Evans, was a kind, giving and beautiful soul. One of the memories I'd like to share is when I was a teenager the Evans' hired me to clean their house. But unlike most people that hire someone to clean their house, Mrs. Evans was right there with me cleaning and she would never have me clean something that she wouldn't clean. Whenever I saw a spider she would shout GEORGE, you need to get that spider, Princess Christine cannot go in that room with the spider in there...that always cracked me up. She also made sure I took breaks and that I sat down with them and ate lunch that she made. She was one of a kind and I am so lucky that she was a part of my and my family's life, I will always cherish her. George, Debbie and Christine, we are so very sorry for your loss. "Kathy (?Mrs. Evans?) was a kind, giving and beautiful sole. One of my memories that I?d like to share is back in my teens I help her with Saturday cleaning. Unlike most people that hire someone to clean their house, she never expected me to do all the cleaning by myself. She was always right there working along with me, always made sure I took breaks and sat down and had lunch w her and Mr. Evans . And whenever I saw a spider she would call GEORGE and tell him to take care of the spider cuz Princess Christine wasn?t allowed to do it ? she was one of a kind?.
