Julia A. Chestnut
April 8, 1949 - March 8, 2020

Julia Ann Wilson-Chestnut was born to the late William Preston Hopson and Augustine Wilson in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 8, 1949. Julia graduated from North Central High School and went on to pursue a career in Education. She retired as Educator after teaching for over 20 years.

Julia Ann was the beautiful wife of Macio "Boat" Tooley and born to this union was one child, Shawnita Lavelle Tooley. She later married William C. Chestnut Jr., and born to this union was also one child, Dwayne M. Chestnut.

Julia Ann, at an early age received our Christ Lord and Savior and was baptized through the Holy Spirit. Her church home is First Baptist of Hodgenville, KY, Reverend Wilkens presiding.

Julia Ann was one of the most affectionate and considerate caretakers of her family. She enjoyed listening to music. Her favorite artists were Al Green Keith Sweat. She also enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, and crocheting.

Julia Ann was preceded in death by her father, William Preston Hopson-Lopez, Preston Hopson, Prentiss Clearborn and baby sister, Denise Wilson.

Julia Ann leaves to mourn and cherish, after her Passing from Labor to Reward, two children, Shawnita Tooley (Steve) and Dwayne Chestnut (Desire). Her other four children she loved and helped raised from her union with William Chestnut: William C. Chestnut Jr., Latoya Chestnut and Brandon Chestnut. She loved his adult children as well. Four grandchildren, Marisa Maul, Shawnyai Trice, Mariah Louise Wilson and Nevaeh. Six great-grandchildren, Ja'Nyla Tooley, Ja'Kyla Tooley, Abbie Tooley, Martyell (Miley) Tucker, Devin Jackson, Ashanti Jackson, and one great-grandchild on the way by way of Dwayne and Desire Chestnut. Her mother Augustine Wilson. Brothers, Michael Hopson-Lopez, Gilbert Gaddie (Coretta), Larry White and Ronnie Harris. Sisters; Sharon Cannon (Demmer), Wanda Clinton (Curtis), Deborah Sue Jones (Robert), Cindy Smith, Terry Holston (Cedric), Jeanette Benberry, Toisan Cobb (Tim), Lorna Mays (Willie), Terri Bradley (Kenny) and Tracy Miller (Tony). Stepmother, Leah Lopez, Stepbrothers, Gregory Lopez and Robert White. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.

Julia Ann received her Heavenly calling to be with Our Lord on March 8, 2020.
