In loving memory of

Bettie Jean Webb
December 15, 1928 - March 23, 2020

Bettie Jean Knight Webb went home to her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2020. Bettie was born in Houston, Texas, on December 15, 1928, and graduated from Reagan High School. She received a BA in Elementary Education from Baylor University where she met her future husband, Dale Webb. They were married on December 22, 1947, in Houston. Bettie taught for many years at Sutton Elementary in the Houston Independent School District. She and her husband retired to their property along the Johnson Creek just west of Ingram, Texas, and began their many travels with the Wally Byam Airstream Travel Club.

While living in Houston, Bettie and Dale were very active members of Sharpstown Baptist Church. At retirement, they joined Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville, and during her last three years she was a member of Sunset Canyon Baptist Church in Dripping Springs.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Jesse and Avie Knight of Lufkin, Texas, her husband, Dale Webb and her son-in-law, Steve Burkett of Corpus Christi. Surviving family members include her daughter, Belinda Burkett, son Rex Webb and wife Michele, grandchildren: Nathan Burkett and wife Young, Aaron Burkett, Adam Burkett and wife Autumn, Ausencio Pereida, Evan Webb and wife Shaylee, Brandon Webb and wife Lydia, and Emily Webb Shillings and husband Clayton. Bettie enjoyed her ten great-grandchildren.

There will be a small family graveside service at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, Bettie wanted any contributions to be donated to the Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram, Texas or Sunset Canyon Baptist Church.

The family expresses many thanks to her many visitors from the Dripping Springs area and the caretakers at Stonebridge Senior Health Center and Ledgestone Assisted Living.

Rex Webb wrote on Mar 26, 2020:

"Friends and family: We know many of you would want to attend a service honoring Belinda's and my mom but everyone's current situation prevents that possibility. We sincerely thank you for being a friend of our family and especially our mom. We'll miss her competitiveness in any game we played together, her loving spirit, great cooking and love for my dad, Belinda and me and all the grandkids and great grandkids. Her interaction with her caretakers was a witness to God's kingdom, which she now calls home. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Rex Webb"
