In loving memory of

Amy Yvonne Marek
July 15, 1981 - March 25, 2020

Amy Yvonne Marek an outgoing, generous, loving young lady passed away after a long, difficult battle with cancer, on
Wednesday, March 25th, 2020, in Austin, Texas at the age of 38 years old.

Amy was born to Linda and Lawrence Marek on July 15th, 1981 in Port Lavaca, Texas. Growing up in the country with her
brother Jeremy, Amy's big heart always found a way to gather every stray animal she came across, bring them home and
convince her parents that they needed to be part of their family. Amy graduated from Calhoun High in Port Lavaca and
then attended Victoria College in Victoria, Texas and then Austin Community College in both Austin and Kyle, Texas. Amy
had a huge heart and her love of animals drew her toward veterinary college, but a sudden change of thought redirected
her toward the medical field and then again toward business. Amy wasn't fickle, she was just trying to find her path. Amy loved to travel. She traveled far and near and dreamt of moving to her favorite destination, New York City, but always landed at home in Texas. Amy loved the people she worked with in Sales and Marketing at Country Inn & Suites in San Marcos, where she worked for over ten years, and in HR with Holiday Inn in San Marcos, Texas.

In addition, Amy's life was richly blessed by those who loved her, including her parents Linda and Lawrence Marek, her
brother and sister-in-law, Melissa and Jeremy Marek and her niece, Adelyn, whom Amy held a special place in her heart
for, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kelly Bloch wrote on Apr 16, 2020:

"Amy and I worked together and she was always a shining star in my day to day. I would go to her for advice because she was a much better Sales Director than I was. I was going through cancer treatment while still working and told no one. She will never know how much she helped me to smile and battle this disease in silence. I wish I could have said goodbye. She will be truly missed! Kelly Bloch"

"Amy got diagnosed about a year after I did. Totally different types of this dreaded disease. But we have been supporting each other through our battle to try and beat it. I have appendix cancer and after already fighting a rough 3 yr battle I?m now considered terminal. I was just in contact with amy about 2 weeks ago and she told me she was treatable and I had high hopes that she would win her war. I?m very sad that it took her from her family and friends. I know she really wanted to keep living. I hope when I join her in the next level that we are dancing the nights away!!! Mari McDowell"

""Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again." To my beautiful niece, who left us way too soon. Thank you for including me in your journey. You fought hard, with grace and faith. I admire your strength and courage, and will treasure so many precious memories. I will always love and miss you, my precious angel. Aunt Odette"
