HELEN THOMPSON
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Helen Irene Thompson went to her heavenly home, peacefully surrounded by family, on her 82nd birthday.

She was born on March 25, 1938, in Letts, Iowa, to Orville and Irene Ash. She was one of eleven children. Helen married Eugene "Mick" Thompson on February 17, 1957. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made out to the Muscatine Humane Society or Chapel of Praise in Muscatine.

She was a homemaker while her daughters were young, and then worked at the Muscatine Police Department for twenty years before retiring. She had three daughters, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren whom she loved very much. She was an avid Chicago Bulls and Elvis fan. She enjoyed going to the casino and doing jigsaw puzzles. She found great joy in making her famous potato salad and rhubarb pie for everyone to enjoy. She loved spending time with animals. She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry (Mike) Seright, Gina Cunningham, and Susan (Craig) Carey; her four grandchildren, Nicole Watson, Kelly Cunningham, Dustin Purvis, and Taylor (Joel) Carey-Murdock; several great grandchildren; siblings; and special friend, Dave Wisniewski.
