Carmelita Darcel Rupert
Carmelita was born on March 11, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska to Matthew II and Rebecca Rupert. She transitioned into Eternity on March 24, 2020.
Carmelita accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Rising Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend G.H. Wilson. She loved to sing and joined the choir. One of her favorite song was Lay Aside Every Weight in which she sang with power and spirit.
Carmelita attended Saratoga Elementary School, Nathan Hale Middle School and graduated from North High School in 1980. She was employed at several companies during her career: Western Electric, Rupert Construction Company, First National Bank of Omaha, Mutual of Omaha and various fast food restaurants.
She is preceded in death by Grand Parents Levi and Laura Talley and Matthew and Bertha Rupert. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Laquilla Darcel Rupert (Kornelius), and Marquilla Darcel Rupert; granddaughters, Skai Louise Pargo and Kenzi Rose Pargo; Special Friend Johnny Hollingsworth; Parents; Matthew II and Rebecca Rupert; Sister, Sharon Denise Moore; Brothers, Matthew Rupert III (Doris), Brett Henderson (Morgan) and Mark Sanders (Phyllis) of Omaha, Nebraska; Uncles; Levi Talley (Lisa), Curtis Rupert, of East St. Louis, Illinois, John Rupert (Elnora), Melvin Rupert (Hattie), of Omaha, Nebraska; Aunts, Castella Lockett, Delores Scott (Ronald), Betty Reeves (Archie), Darlene Helfer (Russell), of East St. Louis Illinois; Nieces, Shaquella Denise Moore of Kansas City, Missouri, Tequilla Marie Rupert (John); great-niece, Tamiah Hooper; great-nephew, Malachi Allen of Omaha, Nebraska and many cousins and friends.
Open Viewing 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Private graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
