Kathryn J. Gullion
February 20, 1931 - April 3, 2020

Kathryn Gullion, age 89, of Colfax passed away on Friday April 3, 2020 at her home. To honor her wish, no funeral services will be held. A private family gathering will occur at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Colfax Fire Department in memory of her.
The daughter of Don and Ella Beals, Kathryn was born February 20, 1931 in Colfax. Kathryn spent many years on the Colfax City Council and was a big advocate and supporter of the Colfax Fire Department. Kathryn always stood up for what she believed in, and took great passion in making sure her voice was heard. Kathryn loved being around her family and always attended her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren's events through the years. Most recently, she could often be found on the floor of her living room playing alongside her youngest grandson and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband Don; sons Mike (Vicky) Harmison of Florida, Mark (Jeri) Harmison of Colfax, Eric (Lori) Harmison of Des Moines; her brother Norman (Linda) Beals of Colfax; seven grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild.

"As a former wlfe of a fire fighter, Kathryn knew first hand the operating limitations of the fire department. She did everything in her power to improve the dept. The only fund raiser she ever missed, was the soup supper a few weeks ago. Knowing Kathryn, she wasn't happy about that. I have a lot of fond memories of her that make me smile, or out right laugh out loud."
