James Roy Henderlight, Jr.
May 18, 1947 - April 21, 2020

James (Jim) Roy Henderlight, Jr. Age 72 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by family on April 21, 2020.
He was born May 18, 1947, the first child of Roy and Jean Henderlight of Knoxville. He is a 1965 graduate of Halls High School and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, East Tennessee State University, and Roane State Community College. He is an Army veteran, serving from 1967 to 1970. He enjoyed a long career as an electronics technician, and retired from PerkinElmer, Inc. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America, both as a youth and as an adult leader. He liked to paint and draw. He enjoyed traveling with family and spending time outdoors. He loved fishing and camping at many of Tennessee's waterways and State Parks.
He is survived by sister Donna Arp, brother Jeff Henderlight (Tammy), two sons - Scott Henderlight and Joshua Henderlight (Heather) of Knoxville, two beloved grandchildren - Gavin Henderlight and Avery Henderlight of Knoxville, niece Molly Snyder (Jordy) of Charleston, SC, nephew Curtis Henderlight of Knoxville, and many cherished cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by father James Roy Henderlight, mother Jean Henderlight Major, wife Monique Henderlight, and son James Roy Henderlight, III.
A private family interment will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Due to the Tennessee Safer at Home Order, a Celebration of Life will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Tennessee State Parks Conservancy, P.O. Box, 121884, Nashville, TN 37212.
