Daniel Tessmer
May 6, 1948 - May 2, 2020

Daniel Tessmer, of Antigo, died Saturday, May 2, 2020, at home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 71 years old. He was born on May 6, 1948, in Antigo, a son of Marvin and Gloria (Bentz) Tessmer. He married Gwen Schenk Lenzner on September 11, 1975, at Antigo United Methodist Church. She survives.

He graduated from Antigo High School in 1966.

Dan served in the United States Army from September 1967 to discharge in January 1968. He continued enlistment in the National Guard until May of 1973.

He had a long employment career at Amron Corporation in Antigo beginning in 1968 until retirement in 2013.

He had been a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 633, Antigo and the Leland-Toffefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653, Antigo.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and hobby farming.

Survivors including his wife are a daughter, Tina (Alan) Westendorf, Lawrenceville, Georgia; a son, Marty (finacee Barb Price) Tessmer, Antigo; three grandchildren Courtney, Shayla, Alisha Westendorf; three sisters, Anita (Gary) Rasmussen, Wittenberg, Kathy (Dan) Rasmussen, Caroline, Sue (Ken) Paycer, Bryant; a brother, David Tessmer, Bryant; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Anna and George Bentz; paternal grandparents Theresa and Otto Tessmer.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Mathew Simonar officiating. Antigo Veteran will conduct military rites following services at the church.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church in Hoffmann Hall.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer at Boettcher's Bar.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Opening Boettchers will not be the same without seeing him in the morning, he always had a smile and something a little sassy to say.. made my mornings ... he also worked with my husband Mark at Amron, always had to give him some grief about calling me on break to early!! Rest in peace my friend and thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends of Dan??"
