In loving memory of

George Patrick Henry
June 21, 1934 - May 4, 2020

DUE TO CORONA VIRUS RESTRICTIONS, THE FAMILY WILL HONOR PAT'S LIFE AT A LATER DATE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE AN ONLINE CONDOLENCE TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT DURING THIS TIME.

George Patrick (Pat) Henry, 85, of Plano, Texas, passed away, Monday, May 4, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Pat is survived by his wife Irene of 55 years, daughter Laura (Eric) Fink, son Scott (Pam) Henry, grandchildren Ryan and Ashley Fink, brother Brian (Char) Henry and sister Rusty Henry. Pat was a loving father, husband, Pop Pop, friend, and second father to many.

Pat was born June 21, 1934 in New York, New York to Alexander and Harriett (Jenne) Henry. He graduated from Leonea High School and then served in the US Army. Following his service, he attended Gettysburg University where he was a member of the wrestling team and graduated with a Psychology degree.

On June 14, 1964, he married the love of his life Irene Brady in New Jersey. Pat was employed by JCPenney and worked in New York City until the headquarters moved to Texas and he relocated his family. He was a loyal employee for almost 30 years and retired at 60 years of age to enjoy his retirement.

Pat spent his free time playing adult softball as a MVP pitcher, bowling, which was his passion, (routinely bowled a 200 game), playing golf, as well as watching sports and politics on TV. He loved watching his New York sports teams (Yankees and Giants), golf (loved Tiger Woods), and participating in a good political discussion (true Republican at heart). He was also an avid card player. He loved playing whether it was pinochle with Irene's grandpa, bridge and hearts with his friends or gin rummy with his grandkids. Pat was an amazing man and truly loved by everyone who knew him.

Pat also truly loved his family. He worked hard to build a home for his wife, supported her so she and the kids could spend summers down the shore, and always stepped up to spend countless hours caring for his grandkids.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Norman Henry. He will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, on Monday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. Please keep in mind due to Corona Virus restrictions, the family has limited amount of people they will invite to be present. We will offer a live stream access, please contact the family for that information.

A special thank you to the people at Yellow Rose Hospice and Lewisville Estates for their loving care and support during his final days.
