Edith J. Codrick
September 8, 1925 - May 3, 2020

Edith J. Codrick, age 94, formerly of Oreland, PA, previously of the Olney Section of Philadelphia, PA, died Sunday, May 3, 2020, in the Cornwall Manor Retirement Community in Cornwall, PA, where she had been a resident since 2016.


Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles Boyd and Margaret (McClurken) Johnston. Mrs. Codrick was preceded in death by her husband George L. Codrick in1982. Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Edward (Helen), Charles (Ruth), Ralph (Millie), Herbert (Bertha), Earl (Nancy), Ruth (Mortimer) Geiger, Anna (Frank) Sickels.


She was the Confidential Secretary for Fitz Eugene Dixon, Jr., of Erdenheim Farms for 25 years before her retirement in 1998. Before that she was the long term church secretary at Oak Lane Presbyterian Church under Pastor David Thompson. Mrs. Codrick was a long time member of Olney Presbyterian Church and for the past 30 years has been an active member of Supplee Presbyterian Church in Maple Glen.


She was the devoted mother of Glenn A. Codrick of Glenside, PA, Joseph S. Codrick, and his wife Marcia, of Ligonier, PA, Susan J. Wirchnianski, and her husband Peter, of Horsham, PA, and Marian L. Lyon and her husband, Arthur, of Fredericksburg, PA. She was the loving Grandmother of 9 and Great-Grandmother of 2. She is also survived many nieces and nephews and her very best friend of 80 years, Grace Bradley.


Funeral Service and Interment at the Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, PA will be held privately.
