Jackie Smith
Lewistown-Jackie Smith, 72, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at his residence.
He was born on November 5, 1947 in Canton to Milbern and Beverly Ruth (Hamm) Smith. They preceded him in death along with his step-mother Mary (Fain) Smith, one son Michael, and three brothers, Gerald Smith, Willis Smith, and David Smith.
He married Rosemary Fetkenhour on August 30, 1969 in Spokane, Washington. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Teresa Smith of Lewistown, Josh (Marie) Smith of Pekin, one sister, Nancy (James "Joe") Goff of Forrest City, Arkansas, one half- sister, Kara (Stephanie) Bechard of Ohio and eight grandchildren.
Jackie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970 and later served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Canton Veterans of Foreign Wars post #1984 and served as past Commander. He enjoyed playing pitch, traveling and going to the speedway to watch his son race stock cars. Most of all he enjoyed going to the restaurants to socialize with his friends and spending time with his family on weekend outings.
Cremation rites will be accorded through the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
