In loving memory of

Paul Olson
October 5, 1992 - May 9, 2020

Paul Nathaniel Olson, age 27, of Grimes, Iowa, moved from this life to life eternal May 9, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines after medical complications. Due to federal and state guidelines for COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Paul was born October 5, 1992 in Boone, Iowa to Raymond and Rebecca (Roberts) Olson. He graduated from Ames High School in 2010. Paul made friends wherever he went and will be remembered for his special greetings and oneof-a-kind handshakes. Paul grew up and was nurtured in a loving and caring community. He received care from so many people who shared their special skills and support to contribute to his quality of life. His church family, school family, and many, many caregivers gave so much. Paul was an inspiration to many and reminded us of the most important aspects of our shared lives. He was beloved by all and will be missed dearly by those who had the opportunity to know him.

Paul is survived by his parents, Ray and Becky Olson of Madrid; brother, Joseph Olson of Nevada and sister, Emily Olson of Ames, as well as many other family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his aunt, Lynn Chandler; maternal grandparents, William and Gladys (Brown) Roberts and paternal grandparents, Harry and Dorothy (Johnson) Olson.

His regular attendance as an active member of Augustana made us all love Paul, with his joyful greetings and ethusiastic handshakes. He helped my grandchildren accept others with handicaps, and feel accepting of them. You were wonderful parents to surround Paul with so much love. God's blessings to you all. "Hi Ray and Becky, Carol Boeke from ChildServe. I am so sad to hear that Paul passed away. He looks so grown up in his picture. What I remember the most about Paul is his big smile and of course the hand - shake. When he was younger he loved bubbles and I blew a lot of bubbles during our therapy sessions. He was excited to come to speech therapy and also excited to leave. What a way to live your life. My thoughts and prayers for you as you go through this difficult time. Carol - Speech-Language therapist - Ames ChildServe. "
