Raymond Lyle Desher
August 20, 1990 - May 11, 2020

Raymond Desher, age 29, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2020, in Nevada.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.

Born August 20, 1990, in Ames, Iowa, Raymond Lyle Desher was the son of Bobbie Jo (George) and Donald Edwin Desher, Jr. He grew up in Nevada where he graduated from Nevada High School in 2009.

Raymond fought a long, hard battle with addiction. Many people came to see only that side of him, but he was so much more. Raymond never judged anyone and was known for his fun, loving spirit, kind heart, and mischievous smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends, doing yard work, and going on walks with his mom.

Raymond leaves behind his mom, Bobbie of Nevada; his sisters, Niki Desher and children Danielle, Raven, Tres, and Sonya, of Nevada, Samantha Desher and boys Edgar Jr. and Julian of Nevada, and Ashley (Josh) Hagen of Ames; his brothers, Brandon Eyanson of Webster City, Donnie Desher III of Nevada and daughter Cordelia; and Ren Damme of Nevada; as well as many cousins, uncles and aunts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Edwin Desher, Jr.; and his maternal grandparents, Archie and Essie George.

Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Raymond and his family.

"Ray please always know u were loved by a lot of people and u will be missed by more. Just remember u will be swimming with us and having that BBQ we talked about! Miss seeing u almost everyday. I wish things were different but I know ur better now and remember we all knew u were a great guy with a bigger heart then u showed. I love u Ray my love will never change and I know u will be watching over all of us. Give Uncle Don a hug for me. I love u always and forever and untill we meet again cuz??"
