"I knew John for about 30 years. I accompanied him along with Gil & Stan Wright when John played his first ever 9 holes of golf with a mismatched set of rental clubs at Beckett Golf Course. John new almost nothing about playing golf at the time & when we reached the first green, here comes John onto the green pull cart & all, but that's all it took, John was hooked on golf. It wasn't long before John had a brand new set of Calloway clubs & by the end on that summer had taught himself enough golf to be able to play without fear of embarrassment, that was John. Over the years we played a lot of rounds together, my favorites we at Buena Vista. On a Sunday afternoon in June of 1994 John & I went to a LPGA tournament at the Dupont Country Club &over the next decade or so travelled to seven states to attend the tournaments, including two Solheim cups in Minnesota & Indiana. Our favorite was always here in NJ at the Seaview resort in Absecon where we struck up a friendship with a player, Rosie Jones & over time she got to know us by name. Sometimes she would come into the hotel bar & if she spied us there would come over for a chat & occasionally join us for a cold beer. She would refer to us as "her guys", we felt very special. But I must admit that it was John who first broke the ice with Rosie by striking up a conversation & making her laugh with his jokes, again that was just John being John. I always knew that family was number one with John & I seen first hand the effort it took for him to earn his engineering degree & he also made sure both of his children got a college education. You only have to look at the pictures of him with his grandchildren, you can just see the pride and joy he had in his family. I would like to say, well done John, very well done. Thanks so much for all the great memories and rest in peace, my friend."

"John and I were partners in the Stone and Webster golf league, He carried my play. No matter how we played, we had a good time. John was the only golfer that i ever met that swung a golf club using a baseball grip method. If he had a bad swing he always had a funny colorful remark that followed. He loved his PRO V1 golf balls. Never happy if one got lost or went into the water. Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. We will miss him. "

"I have had the good fortune to spend many rounds of golf with John. I can recall two memorable rounds wher he lost 10 brand new Por V1s and when he whooped my butt in league play. John had a great sense of humor, at times off color but very funny. From many conversations with John, l came to realize that above all he had a deep love for his family. Well John now that you made it to the nineteenth hole may you always fine your Pro V1s and hit them straight. We will all miss you dearly and you will always have an open spot in our foursome. May God rest your soul in peace."

" There are some people who have the ability to immediately connect with others. No matter what the conversation, you feel comfortable. John was one of those unique people. Each and every time we were together we would have conversations that would inevitably lead to laughter. He was always a down to earth, smart, fun loving and kind hearted individual. Truly a one of a kind. Each and every time I think of him I can't help getting a huge smile on my face. I will mourn his passing however, I will enjoy the memories with him so much more.
