"Thank you with all my heart to everyone who has shown support and kind words whether in person or online regarding the passing of Dwayne Rollins Sr. I will be sending out thank you cards for those of you who left addresses, phone calls for those who have left numbers etc. During the heartbreaking loss of Dad, there has also been lots of love shared, and healing conversations. Here is to a positive next chapter filled with strength and love. Once COVID-19 is subdued or out of the picture or whatever, I plan to have another round to tribute dad, whether it be a bbq at dad?s shop, or some sort of gathering where we can do it safely. My heart goes out to everyone who shares this feeling of loss, and I?m grateful that he put his trust in me to do right by his memory and his family that he loves so dearly ??"

Dwayne Rollins Sr., 81, of Griswold, IA passed away at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2020. A drive-thru visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson. The family will be standing outside the funeral home to greet people as they come by. Guests are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as we are following COVID-19 state regulations. There will be a private family burial at the Carson Cemetery

Dwayne Darrell Rollins Sr. son of Harold and Lois (Wilber) Rollins was born on November 10, 1938 in Carson, IA. He graduated from Carson in 1956. On December 3, 1956 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving until August 27, 1963. Dwayne worked as a mechanic for Pottawattamie County for over 27 years. Dwayne was blessed with four children, Tracy, Teresa, Dwayne Jr and Tessie.
Dwayne was an avid fan of stock car racing, enjoyed watching NASCAR, loved to hunt and participated in competitive shooting, winning first place in the Silver Senior Nebraska Games Shoot. He was also a proud supporter of the arts.
Dwayne was a member of the Carson Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Darrell Rollins and sister, Donna Blatny; niece, Kelli Harrill.
Dwayne is survived by his children, Tracy Shepker of Mineola, IA, Teresa Pauley of Atlantic, IA, Dwayne Rollins Jr. and his wife Amy of Atlantic, IA and Tessie Rollins of Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings Darla Harrill and husband Porter of Carson, and Roxann Strong and husband Dave of Westphalia, IA; brother-in-law Robert Blatny of Carson; other relatives and a host of many friends.
