Karen Hessel wrote on May 21, 2020:

"I have so many good memories of time spent with Linda. She had a beautiful Christian soul and I will miss our times together. The last year has been difficult for us to connect and I am sorry that all the years she supported me I wasn't able to do the same for her. The memories I have of her will be with me forever and I will remember her as a cherished friend. My heart goes out to Mike and all of the family. I know that there will be difficult days ahead and all of you will experience it in your own way. Linda fought hard to be with you as long as she could and her love for you is unending, you will always have place in your heart. So many things will bring both good memories and some sadness. I loved her as a friend and will certainly hold tight to the memories of good times. Prayers to all of you and may God's peace that passes all understanding help you through this time. Karen Hessel "

Wanda Bryant wrote on May 20, 2020:

"Julie, Scott & Family: I want to express deep sympathy to your family in the loss of Julie's Mom. My heart knows this kind of hurt and it is so difficult to carry on without that wonderful Mom being by your side. I will hold your entire family up in my prayers. I also know Mike and Bret casually and want to extend my sympathy to their families as well. Mike & I did some business together when I owned a shop in downtown Muscatine many years ago and Bret I know from his HS sports days and from seeing him at the Y and he is acquainted with my husband, as well. I hope it helps knowing others will pray for your aching hearts to ease and that having friends & family to share your pain alongside you will enrich this difficult time now and in the future. May you all find comfort in the love you all have for your Mom (MIL), Grandma and for one another. Lean on each other and remember that she will always be in your hearts and minds. I remember the best piece of advice I was ever given was to remember that everyone grieves at their own pace and in their own way, don't be hard on another family member because your pace is ahead of theirs or say you think "it's been long enough, and you need to move forward or let go." Be kind and loving. Wishing all of you peace at heart knowing your Mom is whole and healed and sitting at God's right hand waiting for her wings to use to watch over all of you for the rest of your lives. "Linda was devoted to her faith, to Mike and to her wonderful family. She so enjoyed talking about the family and her twelve grandkids. She loved to cook and to care for Mike through nearly fifty-two years of marriage. She also loved her flowers and watching the birds, especially the cardinals. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a good friend to all. We will miss our evening visits around the fire pit as we watched the Mississippi flow by and sipped on a glass of her favorite wine. Sweet dreams dear friend. Sharon and Tom Hatfield"
