"Gordy befriended me when I arrived at Holmes School in sixth grade. He went out of his way to make the quiet, new kid become accepted. We were great friends in sixth and seventh grade, but drifted apart when we went to different schools in eighth grade. Got to know him again after high school when I was working at the Clark station on North Broadway and he was - if I recall correctly - at Rochester Car Park. Good times. He was a great, friendly guy. RIP, old friend. "
