Julie Elston, 76, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Hansen House in Council Bluffs, IA. A celebration of Julie's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the Loess Hills Funeral and Cremation Center in Glenwood with Mike York, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Julie Jane Elston daughter of Marion Edward and Beverly Jane (Hagberg) Elston was born on July 2, 1943 in Spencer, IA. She received her education from Spencer Community schools graduating in 1961. She then attended St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing Sioux City, IA graduating Mercy Echoes class of 1964. She then attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine Psychiatric Institute graduating in 1966.
Julie loved having cats and horses when growing up. She enjoyed bowling, reading books, and going fishing. She loved everyone and nobody was a stranger to Julie. She had a heart of gold and really enjoyed taking care of the kids at the state school. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.
Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Beverly; brother, Kenneth Elston; and sister, Mary Elston.
Julie is survived by brothers, Ted Elston and his wife Irmgard of New Hope, AL, David Elston of Fairbanks, AK, and Richard Elston and his wife Charlotte of Concord, N.C.; nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of many special friends.
