Melvin A. Schooley, 87 of Marshalltown, IA passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown. Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Melvin was born February 6, 1933 to Melvin G. and Myrle (Mullenix) Schooley in Marshalltown, IA. He attended Marshalltown High School where he graduated in 1951. After High School Melvin was united in marriage on March 21, 1952 to Jacqueline Ennis. He worked at Lennox in the Drafting Department for 43 years before retiring.

Melvin is survived by one daughter: Pam (Nicholas) Parrott; two granddaughters: Melinda (Mike) Humphrey, Nicole Bendlage Vanderley; two grandsons: Jeremy (Kim) Bendlage, Jason Bendlage; three great grandsons: Caleb Humphrey, Jacob (Erin) Vanderley, Ian Vanderley; and one great great granddaughter Hadley Vanderley. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, parents, wife, daughter Debra Bendlage, and grandson Chad Parrott.

"Sorry to hear of Melvin?s passing. He was such a great roommate for my deceased husband Don Hodges. They had the Lennox and First United Methodists connection. I always loved to visit with him. He had great sense of humor. Tried to visit with him monthly with our UMW visits. Then the COVID - 19 kept out visitors. My condolences to your family. Edie Hodges"
